Page 1 of 7 News 2012 - April 23-27: The cybernetic division from CeSOS are taking research vessel Gunnerus once again out for a tour. Together with biologists and archaeologists, they are exploring and mapping the seabed by using the remotely operated vehicle (ROV) Minerva. Minerva is using control systems developed by CeSOS researchers.
During the first part of the excursion, the group of researchers located themselves at the Stokkbergneset where they met the challenge of leading the ROV down a 500 m long, steep abyss of the seabed. The second part of the excursion is taking the researchers to the not less demanding environment of a coral reef at Tautra, where the strong streams are expected to be difficult to withstand for the ROV. The researchers are optimistic to overcome those challenges. - April 15: MTC table tennis club won by a mile a friendly tournament against NTNUI table tennis club on 15 April!
